Current Prayer Requests
Pray for the family of MK Beth Bailey Molina
following an auto accident in Atlanta on April 18. Their van was struck
head-on by a man who had gone into diabetic coma. Natalie, the Molina’s
5-month-old baby was the only family member not injured in the accident.
Twelve-year-old Kristoff suffered a broken left hand. Nine-year-old Halden
suffered internal injuries, with shadows showing up on his intestines and
a lung. Beth’s husband Dennis had some minor injuries due to the
deployment of the airbag, but was released from the hospital the next day.
Beth, who suffered multiple fractures (tailbone, shoulder blade, and a
vertebrae in the neck) continues to have considerable pain. Beth’s
mother, former Argentina missionary (1965-80) Barbara Bailey
reported that all are improving daily. Beth is the most critically injured
and continues to have considerable pain.
Missionary Charolette Rock reports that her
father, Lewis McDonald (92), is home from the hospital and able to be up
and about, even taking walks outside using his cane. He is off antibiotics
and has to take an increased dosage of a diuretic. Charolette’s mother,
Sylvia, is doing well and glad that she doesn’t have to be at the
hospital every day.

The David Balyeat family (on Stateside
assignment) has multiple prayer motives. Nancy Ortiz, Alicia’s 19-yr-old
roommate and best friend at Dallas Baptist University, passed away Apr 8
as a result of a virus that attacked her heart. Pray for Alicia’s
emotional recovery and her ministry to the Ortiz family. Also pray for
David Michael and the situation with his injured growth plate resulting
from last year’s soccer injury. Deborah also requests prayer for her
mother, Lyllian Barnes, who is in chemotherapy for lung cancer. Deborah’s
38-yr-old cousin, George, is also hospitalized with a spinal cord
infection.
Continue to pray for emeritus missionary Steve Davenport,
who suffered a mild stroke in late March.
Pray for former Argentina missionary (emeritus, Peru)
Ernie Whitten, who was admitted to the hospital April 23,
experiencing intense pain and having lost use of his legs. Extensive
testing revealed bone cancer located along the spinal cord.
Pray for mission office personnel Julio Cáceres as
he undergoes treatment for prostate cancer. Extensive testing has shown
that there is no evidence of the tumor having spread to other parts of the
body.
Praise the Lord for the recent IMB Board approval for
the May 20 appointment of Jim and Donna Gose for career service in
Buenos Aires. They are scheduled to leave for language school in Costa
Rica on July 21. The Goses recently completed an ISC term of service in
Chile. Continue to pray for both of their families following the deaths on
February 8 of Eva Mae Murphy (Donna’s mother) and April 6 of Mamie Gose
(Jim’s mother).
Remember missionaries David and Alisha Holt in
prayer as they continue to work on required documents in anticipation of a
June interview with the National Adoption Center in the Ukraine.
Praise the Lord that missionary Bruce Muskrat’s
father, Jim Muskrat, is successfully recovering from two separate heart
catheterization procedures at Freeman Hospital, Joplin MO. He received 4
stints on April 5 and an additional stint on April 12.
Missionaries Paul and Laura Shelton request
prayer for the church plant in Alto Dorrego, Mendoza. Pray that the church
will maintain its focus on Christ, and that they will be able to address
the conflicts that may arise.
Pray for missionary Hope Martin (on Stateside
assignment) and her sister, Connie, as they make decisions regarding the
continued post-surgical treatment and rehabilitation of their mother
Eleanor Jean Clements, who has been hospitalized since January.
